Happy Halloween!

The kids had a fun Halloween. My picture wasn't that great, hopefully someone else got a better one? We went to a pumpkin patch (thanks for the tickets Jeff) for FHE and the kids got to ride the ponies and carnival rides. Then it started to sprinkle when we went thru the corn maze, by the time we ended it was pouring. So we didn't get to ride the train. Then we went to Burger King for dinner and the kids played in the tubes. We meet up with some friends too!
Tonight my sisters and their kids and my parents came over for dinner and trick-or-treating. We've done this every year since we moved here. The cousins have a lot of fun together. B and her cousin C were out the longest. R and his friend A got to hang out together too. They had a good time, but we had to end because school in the morning.

Trunk or Treat

We had our ward Trunk or Treat tonight. It was a lot of fun!! We had it at our last Bishop's house. He has a lot of property and great neighbors, who let us party there. We had a cake walk, fishing booth, cotton candy machine, face painting, bounce house and obstacle course, haunted/scary hayride and trunk or treating. The kids had a great time. Todd and I won the most coordinating couples prize. He was a Celtic King and I was a Maiden Princess. R was an army guy, B was Belle and K was a Purrr-fect Kitty.

First Grade Field Trip

B first grade class went on a field trip last week to see a play. They saw, the Reluctant Princess. I got to be a chaperon and ride on the bus with them. Luckily it was just in town, so the drive was short. I had a group of 5 girls. We had a fun time. The play was fair.

Brownie Field Trip

B went on a field trip with her brownie troop to the Pumpkin Farm. They had a lot of fun!! They pet the animals, went on the hayride, ran through the corn maze, went down the BIG slide, climbed the hay pyramid, went through the haunted barn and picked their own pumpkin. It was a nice afternoon and the rain stayed away.

My New Calling

Today I was released from cub scouts. I'm sad and surprised, since I was only in since April. It was a lot of fun working the Bear den! R wishes I was still his leader, but he has some great ladies replacing me. I'm now the 2nd counselor in the R.S. over the Enrichment program. We have a huge Enrichment craft/dinner night coming up next week, so hopefully I can help to get everything ready. It should be a fun evening! I'm excited for this new position and getting to know the sisters better. It's almost been 2 years since being in R.S. because I was in the nursery for a year and a half and then I've been substituting alot since then. I'm honored to be working with this presidency and my board. I hope to fulfill all that I'm supposed to do and help where I can.

Our Trip to SF

We went to San Francisco for the weekend. We had so much fun! Mommy was a little under the weather, but she made it. We stayed at the Marriott Courtyard and the kids enjoyed the indoor pool. We went to the Calzone restaurant for dinner, then we went to Denny's for breakfast. We enjoyed all the fun activities at the Exploratorium. We could have stayed all day; not sure who enjoyed it more, dad or kids? Then we drove around with all the crazies to Ghirardelli Square. We had some delicious hot fudge sundaes. Then we went to Pier 39, walked around, looked at all the sea lions(100+) and the kids each got a souvenir. We was nice to get away for the day, the kids didn't have soccer games this week. The kids have 4 more weeks of school before fall break!

Pumpkin Patch

K preschool class went to the Pumpkin Patch this week. They had a great time on the hay ride, going thru the corn maze, sliding down the slide and choosing their own pumpkin. Mommy got one too! It was a beautiful day, we even wore long sleeves. Mommy gets to go next week with B Brownie troop. Happy Halloween!!

Our new cousin

The kids enjoyed meeting their new cousin tonight. Her name is Faith Autumn, she was born this morning. She weighs 7lbs. 4oz. and 20 1/2" long. R held her the most, he is such a baby person. He was always a great big brother, when they were little. B loved to hold her, until her arms got tired. She made a beautiful card for her. K wasn't sure what to make of it. She was very shy, but talked about seeing her all day. Welcome into the family!

Fall

I can't believe it's October already(that means Christmas is around the corner). This is probably my favorite time of year. The windows are open in the house. You can wear a sweater in the morning and evening, but short sleeves in the afternoon. The leaves are changing colors and falling. Well, I'm not so excited about them falling, the puppy wants to eat them. Some nights I can smell a fireplace burning. It's brings back cozy memories as a child. I like when I go to the grocery store, there are pumpkins and other decorations around. The kids are excited about choosing costumes. Every day K changes her mind of what she wants to be. Next week I'm going with her on a field trip to the pumpkin patch. HAPPY FALL!!
