Our Dear Prophet

We are at my mom and dads for my sister Julie's birthday. We received a call from my brother Tom, who is at BYU, and said that President Gordon B. Hinckley died tonight. He was 97 years old and died from issues related to his age. He was our 15th prophet and has served since March 12, 1995. He became our prophet the week after I returned home from my mission in Oregon. He was the oldest prophet, surpassing David O. McKay. President Hinckley will be remembered for building more than 74 temples worldwide. He was so sweet and I'll always remember his smile. He was the first prophet my kids knew, so it will be neat to see them get to know a new one and sustain him. They will have to learn a new verse to their prophet song. He will be greatly missed, we love him. Now he can be with his dear wife.

What a Night I'm having!

Well, this is the kind of night I had. I took R and his friend to a sports activity this afternoon. When I was dropping his friend off, I sliced my tire on the metal drain on the curb. I was trying to be real careful, because I've seen several others pop their tires on it. I guess my tire wasn't completely straight and I hit it. Luckily my friends had AAA and called for me. Or I would have been out in the rain trying to change it. The young guy was there about 45 minutes later and put on my spare. They were real sweet and feed us dinner while we waited. The kids enjoyed it! Todd is out of town this weekend with my SUV, so I have his car. Oops! So, I'll be going to Costco in the morning to get a new one.

K loves to pose for the camera. She will even grab my camera and start taking pictures. This was just the other day, she was helping me in my office and wanted a picture with her bear. I can't believe how long her hair has gotten. I love the little curl at the ends. She is so sweet one minute and a terror the next. I'm hoping age 4 will be better. Love ya girl!

Coyote of the Month!

B was chosen to be "Coyote of the month" today at school. Her teacher said, "She is a wonderful student who adds a lot to our class. She knows how to be a good learner by listening to the directions and getting work done. She is always thinking and trying to figure things out. She is an asset to our class." The other 2 students received a character trait award for: fairness. She was so excited to receive it! She is coming out of her shyness and is really learning to read. I'm very proud of her hard work this year. Todd had a conference call this morning and wasn't going to make it. The call was short and for some reason 2 other teachers went ahead of Mrs. Kraemer, so he made it just in time!! B was so glad he was there. K loved singing the "I am a Pizza" song during the assembly.

Sacramento Temple

I went on the ward temple trip last night. It was so nice to get away from the worldly things and enjoy a peaceful and spiritual evening. I always seem to have a bad day, when I'm trying to go to the temple, I'm glad I didn't give in and stay home. It was just what I needed. Todd was out of town so I went by myself. I dropped the kids off at my mom & dads and they had a great time playing with cousins and aunties. I got to sit with Julianne and we both were having a hard time when the lights went out. We don't get quiet time very often and our bodies are used to always being on the go, we were fighting nodding off. At least we didn't snore like the lady in front of us. It was a very wonderful night. The temple is so beautiful!!

Late Christmas Surprise!

K received a package in the mail on Monday. It was a late Christmas present from her cousin.(wrong mailing address) She was soo excited!!! She opened the package and it was 7 of the cutest little teddy bears. They have scarfs, earmuffs, hats and sweaters on. She loves to dress them and takes at least 1 with her everywhere. Thanks Madison!!

"Jesus Wants Me For A Sunbeam!"

K went to her Sunbeam class for the first time yesterday. She had a great time!! There were only 4 kids in class(2 missing). She loves her teacher Sister Cole. She even brought her own scriptures. I'll need to get her a little tote bag to put them in. She's been singing "teach me, guide me, walk beside me", ever since. She doesn't have all the words right, but it's so cute!!! They have a great little class. I can't believe how fast these kids have grown. They were all babies when R started Kindergarten. I better finish so I can go pick up the kids.

My bedroom

I added some decorations to my bedroom last week. K and I went shopping and she helped me pick out the giraffes (a mommy and baby). It's great to have a theme. Someday I'll get the room painted. Now I'm ready to conquer my computer room/office. Maybe Saturday morning.

Claire's Blessing Day!

We went to my sister Alyson's ward(the ward I grew up in) today for her daughter, Claire Noelle's blessing. It was a very special prayer and she did so good(the other baby getting blessed today screamed the whole time). She looked beautiful in the dress that my grandmother made. (B & K wore it too) Her big brother Carter is so sweet with her. We went to my moms afterwards for Hawaiian haystacks. They were yummy. It was fun to visit with everyone and the kids played. We watched Amazing Race and then had this delicious strawberry cake for dessert.

Break Is Almost Over

Well, the Christmas break is almost over. It went by pretty fast, like usual. R & B had a great time skiing on Wednesday with Todd. The weather was nice and it was a little crowded, but not too bad. B took her first lesson and did fair. R went down the slopes with daddy and had a great time. Todd is very sore now(getting old).
We have had some bad storms this week. Our house survived, but many friends and neighbors lost trees, fences, trampolines and power. We are thankful for all of our safety and we haven't heard of any injuries from anyone. I'm glad we don't live in the states that get the bad storms, it can be scary.
We had a fun time at Chuck E. Cheeses on Thursday with our friends, Robert & Tom. The kids got over 1000 tickets and the prizes were still lousy. They had a great time, we stayed for 3 hours. The kids got to meet their new Primary teachers this morning and are excited!! We'll miss our first week because we have a baby blessing. Well, I better go get the kids in bed. Good night!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

I'd like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year! We had a nice evening at my mom & dads, playing games, eating tons of food and visiting. Todd, Ryan and Brittney left early, they are skiing in the morning. Brittney's first lesson. Hopefully they will have a great day and NO injuries! Kimberly feel asleep just after 11pm, she had a fun time playing with her cousin Carter. We played Phase 10 up until 11:50pm and had some sparkling cider and watched the count down on TV. Then we went home just after midnight. It was an enjoyable evening, but it always goes by too fast. I hope this next year is a great one, staying healthy, reading our scriptures more, thankful for our job and home and our beautiful little family. *WELCOME 2008*
